Cyanogenmod 13 shortens battery life

Should I leave my computer on the charger when streaming movies online?

Apple does not recommend leaving the portable device plugged in all the time because one Lithium- It is important to keep the electrons in the battery moving from time to time. However, the MacBook / Pro offers up to 1000 full charge and discharge cycles before it 80% reached its original capacity.

A charge cycle means that all of the battery power is used, but that doesn't necessarily mean a single charge. For example, you might one day listen to your iPod at half its power for a few hours and then fully charge it. If you do the same thing the next day, it counts as one charge cycle, not two. Therefore, it can take several days to complete a cycle. Each time you complete a charge cycle, the battery capacity is reduced slightly.

As of 2009-2010, laptops have had a technology called Adaptive Charging, at which is basically a chip inside the battery that communicates with its cells and monitors everything from the state of charge to the temperature. The chip forwards this information to the computer, which uses an advanced algorithm to determine the optimal charging current. Adaptive charging reduces the wear and tear on the battery and offers a service life of up to 5 years.

So I won't actually have to worry about the battery. Just try not to keep it plugged in all the time and remember to do a full charge cycle at least once a month.
