What is the university admission process

Admission requirements

In some courses at the University of Stuttgart, an entrance exam is required. The procedure is intended to determine the particular suitability and motivation for the chosen course of study. Anyone who does not meet the specified minimum requirements does not take part in the admission procedure. All applicants - regardless of nationality or country of origin of the certificate - must take part in this procedure.

This entrance exam is not always a real exam. It is a selection process that is designed differently depending on the subject. You can find out which procedure is carried out by the course of your choice from the respective selection criteria and admission statutes of the courses.

In some courses of study, the entrance examination can be waived if sufficient academic achievements have been credited. Since the recognition of academic achievements only takes place after the application, you should in any case hand in the relevant documents and evidence and take part in possible tests (period July / August).

The criteria for the entrance examination are different in the degree programs. As a rule, the application deadline for these entrance exams is the same as the application deadline for the degree program. However, earlier application deadlines apply in individual courses.

You can find more detailed information on the Numerus Clausus (NC) and entrance examination page and in the respective selection criteria and admission statutes.
