Problem:

You need to install numerous fonts on multiple computers. You want to integrate the fonts into Windows (98, ME, 2000, XP) as quickly as possible.

Solution:

You do not have to go to the "Fonts" menu item in the control panel to install new fonts. A small batch file does the job. First copy the TTF files from the source directory to% windir% \ Fonts, i.e. in the Windows font folder. So that the new fonts are immediately available, you must then open the fonts folder in Windows Explorer.

The following batch file demonstrates the necessary command sequence with the example directory "F: \ Fonts" as the source directory for the new fonts:

copy F: \ Fonts \ *. TTF% windir% \ fonts

explorer% windir% \ fonts

Adjust the source path in F: \ Fonts of this batch file accordingly; the specified target% windir% \ fonts works in this form on every Windows system. Calling Windows Explorer updates the list of installed fonts. They are then available in any application that uses Windows fonts.
