Were you loved as a child

One night child

When he was born
nobody was happy.
He didn't have a father
and the mother no time.
He saw people talking
behind the hand held,
and already at the age of seven
he recognized exactly:

Child of one night,
you only live by accident
ridiculed and laughed at
and uncomfortable for many.
Child of one night,
you were never loved
that's how you learned to take
what you are not given.

He wanted to go to school
be like the others.
But once it was a bridal day
then he was not invited.
Soon the teachers called him
obdurate and strange,
then they put him in a home
because it was so difficult.

Child of one night,
you only live by accident
ridiculed and laughed at
and uncomfortable for many.
Child of one night,
you were never loved
that's how you learned to take
what you are not given.

At seventeen in the big city -
he finally wanted out.
Then jobs in construction and assembly line,
he never lasted long.
He cracked a couple of cars
soon he was on trial
obdurate and without residence;
There was no parole.

Child of one night,
you only live by accident
ridiculed and laughed at
and uncomfortable for many.
Child of one night,
you were never loved
that's how you learned to take
what you are not given.

(Choir:)
Child of one night,
you only live by accident
ridiculed and laughed at
and uncomfortable for many.

(Choir and Udo :)
Child of one night,
you were never loved
that's how you learned to take
what you are not given.
