How to send data from an iOS device to another AirDrop-compatible device is explained here using a photo as an example:

  1. On your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, go to the photo that you want to transfer.
  2. Then tap Send or thatShare symbol. You can recognize this symbol by a square box with an arrow pointing upwards.
  3. Click AirDrop at.
  4. In the selection menu that opens, select the name of the AirDrop user who should receive the data or the Apple device to which you want to transfer the data.

Note: To send several photos at once, first tap in step 1 Selectif this option is offered in the respective application.

Of course, you can also transfer other file formats, such as videos or documents, in the manner described above.

Alternative procedure for Mac and MacBook: On computers with macOS, you can alternatively call up AirDrop directly via the Finder. There you then drag and drop the files to be transferred onto the profile of the desired AirDrop user, which is displayed on the right-hand side of the window.
